OUR STORY

Sebastiano was born in Zevio, Italy. Julia was born in Paris, France. 

Then in 2014: Sebastiano moved to Ireland. And in 2017: Julia moved to Ireland.

Sebastiano was already working at Smartbox for a few years when Julia joined. They met at work in January 2017. They worked together on the Italian market. They went out a few times with friends in common. Julia actually came to Sebastiano's birthday party without knowing it was his (got invited by some other friends who were going).

After Julia was asked to analyze digital products, she reached out to Sebastiano for help, given it was his area of expertise. To thank him for his help, she suggested an innocent afterwork drink on a week day. But Sebastiano had other plans that week, including a work trip so he suggested a Saturday drink instead! Which made it a date (totally different!).

They met at the bottom of the Heineken tower on April 1st, unsure what they were going to talk about all night... and the night turned into 5 dates in 1.

1. They started with a glass of Italian wine at Drury Building. 

2. Then they headed to Fallon & Byrne for a cheese and charcuterie board (a French woman and an Italian man - what else?) and a bottle of wine. 

3. Then they had a cocktail at VCC.

4. They popped by a pub for a Baby Guinness.

5. And finished the night dancing at Lily's Bordello (a night club that unfortunately closed since).

That's where they shared their first kiss! And the rest is history.

They've been together ever since.

They took their first weekend trip away in Galway in June 2017. Then they went to the US in September 2017 where they were meant to go to Florida but a hurricane redirected them to California instead.

It was the beginning of many amazing adventures together and their common passion for travels took them around the globe, including many trips to their homes in France and Italy but also the UK, the US, Denmark, Sweden, Vietnam, Cambodia, Monaco, the Maldives, Seychelles, Spain, Germany...

They also share a passion for food which made them cook, bake and go out to a lot of fantastic restaurants together.

They moved in together in February 2019.

And then, a world pandemic happened. From March 2020, they isolated together for almost 2 years (except for a couple of trips to France and Italy). Spending 24/7 at home was hard, especially since both of them changed jobs remotely. But all this time, they were happy together and managed to make the most of it.

In November 2022, in the first long haul trip since 2020, Sebastiano asked Julia to marry him on a beach in the Seychelles... and (spoiler alert!) she said YES!

They decided to get married in Arcachon, France, which is Julia's heart home - where she's spent all her vacations since she was born and that she made Sebastiano love as well. It's a special place for the both of them and they're more than happy and excited to share it with their families and friends.

They decided to take their time to plan a great weekend to celebrate their love with all the people they love!
